    Greetings MES Families,

As we prepare to head out for the Winter Break that will officially put 2020 behind us I want to take a few moments to celebrate the connected remote school and classroom communities we have created this fall. I recently had the honor of visiting a class meeting in every MES classroom. Every time I am in one of our MES remote classrooms I am amazed by the optimism, flexibility, resilence and empathy I see from the students and from the adults on both sides of the screen. Thank you for your ongoing support as we work to ensure safe and inclusive remote classroom communities that allow these learning mindsets to thrive. I know remote learning does not feel great for students and adults lot of the time, but I also know how important the connections our students have made with each other and with the adults who love them are. Thank you for all you have done to contribute to developing and nurturing these connections.

Please find attached to this message a library update from Ms. Abby. Also, I have attached a request from the artist, Alex Chui, who is working on our WA State Art In Public Spaces Grant mural project. Please take time to look at both of these attachments and encourage your student to participate in these exciting opportunities over winter break.

I also want to remind you about the Positive Discipline parent education sessions we will be holding in 2021 with Julietta Skoog. Her first session will be held on January 7th. Register for this session today on our PTA website!

I wish you all a safe and peaceful break. See you in 2021!

    With gratitude and appreciation,
