MES Family Communication from Principal Kelly 03/08/24

Good Afternoon,

It is so nice to be back at MES. Seeing all of our staff and your student’s sweet faces was such a bright light! I want to send a very special thank you to Karen Harris and Jen Dickens for taking such good care of MES in my absence. Thank you- you are both amazing!

I also wanted to acknowledge that second-grade teacher, Jen Dickens, has been completing her administrative internship and teaching her class this year. This was a huge lift and Ms. D’s creative thinking, organization and extensive knowledge was so impactful. Ms. D is done with her internship hours and close to completing her coursework. Please thank her if you see her around!

In partnership,
Kelly Walter

Your donations help to build out a more inclusive and student-centered environment, giving our students the best possible education. See below for some of what your donations go to.

  • Academic Development – Magnetic Reading, Reading Intervention Tutors (5), SIPPS Reading Support, In School Assemblies, After-School Program, IslandWood Camp (Grade 5), and Project Based Learning.
  • Staff Support and Development – Recess and Lunch Supervisors, Professional Development Trainings, and Classroom and School Supplies.
  • Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion – Community Cultural Celebration, Light Celebration, Families in Need Support, Outreach to New Families, and Parent Education.
  • Community Building – Engaging Free community events, such as the Fall Festival, Blue High Way Games Night, Movie Nights, Fun Run, Talent Show, Back to School Picnic, and many more. These events are designed to strengthen bonds within our school community and create lasting memories for all who attend.
