Magnetic Reading Family Literacy Night

Please join us for a night of learning about our new Magnetic Reading program on November 8th, from 6-7pm in MES Commons. The evening will include an overview of the Magnetic Reading program high level program purpose, then zoom in on K-2 and 3-5. The team will also give you an overview of the personalized instruction offered and how you can support at home. We are all so excited about the level of student engagement using this new curriculum and the ability to meet each and every student where they are at in their learning.

Family Conferences

We have family conferences coming up. All teachers will meet with each family to learn more about your students and share their current academic and social emotional growth. Please make sure to respond to their request to schedule a meeting and know that teachers will be scheduling conference based on your schedule and theirs. Teachers will give to option of meeting on Teams if that works best for your family.

School Safety

Start of Day

Safety is our highest priority. Beginning today, our building will lock at 7:55 am. This is the time of our second bell. All students should be dropped off in the courtyard or on 28th (unless they ride the bus) prior to the bell. Adults are asked not to enter the building in the morning unless they are signing into the office. We want to minimize the number of adults who aren’t staff AND the number of people using the exterior doors after the bell. Please help us by arriving on time and dropping off in the courtyard- or having your child use the front door if they arrive late. If you walk your student into the front door, we are asking you say goodbye in the office. If your student needs support getting to class, we can provide that.

Drop-off

As the weather gets darker and colder in the the mornings, we are noticing more families driving and dropping their students at school. If you are dropping your student from your car, please use the load/unload zone on 28th. Some students are being dropped off on Smith and McGraw. This is a major safety issue and there have been many close calls with students. You may park and walk your student to the court yard and drop them by car on 28th.
