MES Family Communication: Parking, Drop-off/Pick-up Changes, PTA Info
Parking, Drop-off, and Pick-up Changes
Dear Families,
I ask that you please read the communication below on how your student should get to and from Magnolia Elementary School safely each day. We encourage each and every one of you to find alternatives to coming to school by car.
Please read and understand all three pages of these guidelines. We expect you to follow the guidelines shared in this communication, and we will have parent and student volunteers set up around the school to reinforce these guidelines and to help all students get to and from school safely.
We are always open to feedback, however, when it comes to safety we insist you follow these guidelines. If you have feedback you can share it with myself outside the drop-off pick-up time window by email, phone call or in person.
Thank you for your support and see you soon!
In Partnership,
Principal Kelly
Getting to and from Magnolia Elementary School
For the 2024-2025 school year, we are enhancing student and family safety by enforcing our drop-off and pick-up procedures.
First we are encouraging everyone to find alternates methods for Getting to and from school without a car!
Please Walk, Bike, or Roll to School!
Please use our crossing guards, marked in yellow below.
Where Can I Park and Drive?
We understand that sometimes you need to drop-off or pick-up your student with a car.
In these situations you have two options:
- Park further away from the school and walk in
- Drop-off or Pick-up in the designated area
Option 1: Park further away from school and walk in
Parking is not allowed in the areas colored red below.
Option 2: Drop-off or Pick-up in the designated area
How:
- When you drop-Off or pick-up, your car should only stop long enough for the student to get in or out of the car.
- You should never turn off your car or exit your car.
Where:
- Drop-Off and Pick-Up on the South Half of 28th Ave W
- Only approach on 28th Ave W from south of the school
- Do not try to enter the line from W McGraw Street
Tips to keep things safe:
- Only enter the line from the correct direction
- Form a single line and wait for your turn
- Only drop-off or pick-up your student in the designated area
- Respect and listen to the Adult and Student Safety Patrol leaders
- Don’t get out of your vehicle when in line
Drop-Off and Pick-Up are only allowed in green area below.
